EPD's New District Director

LAUREL HIT THE 2ND METRO EAST CHALLENGE

After more than a month of office assumption to Eastern Police District being the District Director, Police Chief Superintendent MIGUEL DM LAUREL set off of the 2nd Metro East Challenge on May 10 to 12 at Armscor Firing Range, Parang, Marikina City.

The 2nd Metro East Challenge was a seven (7) stages Level 2 Challenge, consists of minimum of 120 rounds shoot for cause event that aimed to generate funds to procure re loading machine and ammunition compositions in order for the EPD PNP Personnel to familiarized themselves with their issued firearms as well as to learn pre cautions in handling such.

HOSTAGE TAKER SURRENDERED AND ARRESTED

The Pasig City Police Station under the leadership of POLICE SUPERINTENDENT ALFREDO M CALAMA-AN, OIC Chief-of-Police, with the combined elements of Follow-up Unit led by SPO3 Raul Casiño, Station Anti-Illegal Drugs personnel, Warrant and Subpoena Section personnel, SWAT and TMR arrested notorious leader of Robbery Hold-Up Gang, identified as one Jeffrey Fayo y Rubio, 32 years old, single, jobless and resident of Brgy. Pantok, Binangonan, Rizal on May 10, 2012 at Ramos Compound, Brgy. Rosario, Pasig City.

EPD PROMOTES ANIMAL CARE AND WELFARE

The Eastern Police District under the leadership of POLICE CHIEF SUPERINTENDENT MIGUEL DE MAYO LAUREL, District Director thru PSSUPT ANTONIO L GUMIRAN, Deputy District Director for Operations and concurrent Deputy District Director for Administration; PSUPT GANABAN C ALI, Chief District Police Community Relations and Public Information Office and DPCR personnel in partnership and cooperation with the Animal Kingdom Foundation (AKF) as represented by Mr. Luis Buenaflor Jr, Operations Director, AKF; Atty. Heidi Marquez-Caguioa, Legal Officer and Treasurer, AKF and UNTV jointly conducted a Free Dog Vaccine and Seminar on Animal Care and Animal Welfare Act on May 5, 2012, 9:00 AM at EPD Headquarters Quadrangle.

PASIG POLICE ARRESTS FOUR DRUG SUSPECTS IN AN
ANTI- ILLEGAL DRUG CAMPAIGN

The Pasig City Police Station’s Anti-Illegal Drugs-Special Operation Task Group (SAID-SOTG) led by PO3 Jeffrey R Male under the direct supervision of POLICE CHIEF INSPECTOR JOSELITO F BRIOSO arrested four suspects during the conduct of Campaign Against Illegal Drugs on May 2, 2012 at Bolante I, Brgy. Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City.

2 CHINESE DRUG SYNDICATES

Eastern Police District (EPD) Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (DAID SOTG) led by POLICE SENIOR INSPECTOR VIRGELIO SANTIAGO, Chief DAID SOTG, in consonance with EPD Case Operation “DRY ICE” arrested in a buy bust operation two (2) Chinese Drug Syndicates identified as Quingjian Shi, aka Romy Shi and Love Sy, male, 40 years old resident of 125B Sisa St., Barangay Acacia, Malabon City and Benson Chua, male, 47 years old, resident of # 408 Marigold Street, Quezon City; at about 6:30PM on May 3, 2012 at the Parking Lot of Nipa Hut Restaurant located along Captain Henry P Javier Street, Barangay Oranbo, Pasig City.

EPD HEALTH SERVICE CONDUCT A FREE OPERATION TULI

The Eastern Police District Health Service headed by POLICE SUPERINTENDENT ESAGANI T LIM conducted a free Operation Tuli on April 24, 2012 held at EPD Conference room.

The activity was supported by the DISTRICT DIRECTOR, POLICE CHIEF SUPERINTENDENT MIGUEL DM LAUREL and his compassionate other half Dra. Eva G Laurel, who has been very supportive and accommodating throughout the activity.

COP SHOT ROBBERY HOLD-UP SUSPECT WHILE AT HEIST

A bona fide member of Marikina City Police Station assigned at Tactical Operation Center (TOC) identified as SPO2 Herbert Salazar Baylon instantly became a hero cop after he gunned down a robbery hold-up suspect identified as Carlo S. Barcelon, 35 years old, in an aircon bus with the route of Alabang- Letre via Edsa at about 11:00 in the evening of April 23, 2012 along Guadalupe Viejo, Makati City.

Investigation disclosed that, while the bus was traversing along EDSA, Barangay Viejo, Makati City, two (2) unidentified malefactors boarded positioning themselves; one (1) at the back of the bus and the other one (1) went directly to the driver’s back and at gunpoint announced the heist. Armed with .38 re revolver the suspects divested the personnel belongings of the passenger.

INTEGRATED FIRE DRILL AT PETRON LPG DEPOT

On April 14, 2012 at 10:00AM, a fire drill was conducted inside the compound of Petron Gasul Depot by employees and members of LPG Depot located along C-5 Road, Brgy. Ugong, Pasig City. The said fire drill was attended by PSSUPT ANTONIO GUMIRAN JR, DDDO, FSSUPT FENNIMORE JAUDIAN, DD and Concurrent Chief IATF-DILG. However, FCINSP ROY QUESTO, OIC, Pasig City Fire Station, all DCOPOs from different Police Stations of EPD, PCINSP JOSELITO F BRIOSO, PCP1 Commander, FSINSP ANTHONY ARROYO, Chief, IIS, FINSP REDENTOR ALUMNO, Chief Logistics, FINSP JIM B PALER, Chief, Intelligence and Investigation Branch were also present during the activity.

ARRESTED SUSPECT FACES FIVE COUNTS OF ROBBERY HOLD-UP IN MARIKINA

PO3 Ramilo De Pedro and PO1 Michael Albania elements of PCP 5 Block 6 and Tactical Motorcycle Riders (TMR) of Marikina City Police Station arrested a suspect of Robbery Hold-up incident on April 15, 2012 at Brgy. Concepcion Uno, Marikina City.

The arrested suspect was John Astrobel Ortiz y Duran 32 years old, married, jobless and resident of Brgy. Parang, Marikna City, while his cohort, Ritchie Grande resident of Brgy Concepcion Uno, Marikina City is at large.
